Before you leave the house pause and ask yourself:
– do I have my cell phone? my grocery list? directions? the receipt for what I’m returning? my coupons? my gift cards?
– what else is on my To Do list that I could accomplish while I’m out?
– what meal is on the horizon that I can shop for today and not have to make a 2nd trip?
I can probably come up with another example, every single day, where I save myself some time and trouble simply because I pause and pay attention to what I’m doing. And I can probably come up with daily examples where I forget to do this and it bites me in the behind!!
Hopefully, those moments of mindfulness multiply and prevail.
