The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin

My friend, Julie, recommended this book. And I’m loving it! It’s eery – Gretchen Rubin and I are SO similar in SO many ways. I’m constantly shaking my head. THAT’S what I do. THAT’S what Jay says about me…

Anyway, I just started reading it last night but I can’t wait to get back to it. I will update this as I get through the book.

… I finished the book yesterday and I loved it all the way through. I’m inspired. I’m excited. I’m happier. 😉

Maybe it’s a girl thing. I can’t honestly see my husband getting into it. Neither did Gretchen’s husband. But, I know that, like Jamie, Jay will benefit greatly from my increased happiness. (I’m assuming, of course, that he even notices!)

I’ve subscribed to Gretchen’s blog, where I hope to comment and connect with others. And, I’ve already started her new book, Happier at Home.

I love the way The Happiness Project is broken down into twelve chapters – one for each month of the year. My plan is to buy the book (from Amazon of course, getting free shipping and using the gift card I bought at Office Max giving me 5x points) and reread one chapter/month, for as long as it takes for everything to truly sink in and become second nature to me. Will I make a resolutions chart? I don’t know. Time will tell. It’s definitely up my alley. I am the Queen of spreadsheets and lists.

Anwyay, you’ll be hearing many references to the book in future posts. Saving money and pursuing happiness dovetail in more ways than you’d think…
