I’m loving Tim Ferriss’ new book Tools of Titans even more than his The 4-Hour Workweek. I got it from the library and am blazing through it (it’s huge but reads very quickly). I’m not going to be able to renew it and, even if I could, I’m going to buy it. I rarely buy books, so this says something about how much I’m getting out of it.
I’ve even ordered a variety of products he recommends. I already take a magnesium supplement every evening, but I decided to try Magnesium Threonate Capsules, as he says it helps with sleep. It arrived yesterday so last night was my first trial of it. Maybe I was extra tired because I hadn’t had a great sleep the night before. Plus I worked two evenings in a row. But, boy did I get a good night’s sleep! I’m pretty sure it had nothing to do with the “placebo effect”. If anything, I usually react exactly the opposite to whatever I’m trying. I think I overthink it. So, either I was going to have a great night anyway. Or it really made a difference. Hoping for the latter.
I’ve also ordered Lithium Orotate and Laird Hamilton’s Turmeric Creamer. (Yes, the surfer dude in Riding Giants.) I’ll report on these later. I’m looking for a no carb alternative to the Vietnamese coffee I make every morning. I already take Relief Factor, a natural anti-inflammatory. If I like the Turmeric Creamer then I feel I could either swap it for the Relief Factor or at least halve the nightly dose.
We’ll see. It’s going to be very hard to find anything that I like as much as condensed milk! Maybe I could alternate.
