I started the year off unsubscribing to the gazillions of emails I get. This month I’m unfollowing people on Facebook – you know, those really nice people who friend you and then you realize they post 3-4 times/day. (One time I unfollowed a gal who posted about all the meals she cooked and what the weather was like. I knew, better, what the temperature was in Calgary than here in Denver!)
I don’t like to spend much time on Facebook. In fact, I don’t think it’s good for you to read about everyone’s hyped up, embellished, wonderful lives. But – it’s a way for me to keep up with my nieces and other faraway friends and relatives. Plus, there are some people in town who post about events I am interested in. But I might not find out about them if I have to wade through dozens, no hundreds, of other posts. For example, we missed a concert this weekend because I hadn’t read a friend’s posts. So, I’m unfollowing people. It doesn’t mean I don’t like them. I do. But I don’t have the time or energy to follow them.
