Buying Gift Cards at Office Supply Stores

gift cardsI usually choose money over miles but, since earning miles is, once again, a top priority, I’m going to be buying gift cards at Office Supply stores vs. buying them at a discount online. Once I have 300,000 miles, I will go back to buying gift cards online. 300,000 of the 325,000 miles I used this past month were for trips that weren’t planned in advance and saved us approximately $8,400.

Last week I bought Regal, Amazon and Bed, Bath & Beyond cards using my Ink Bold card at Office Max, earning 500 points for the $100 I spent. They also sell Lowes, Home Depot, Home Goods and Macy’s cards – all of which I will get at some point. I sure wish they sold King Soopers cards! I buy Chipotle cards for Christmas every year, so I will be sure to get them at an office supply store next year.

Slowly, but surely, I’ll bank the miles I need to cover another emergency.
