Every year I get some One-time passes from Chase to use at United Club lounges at airports. I’ve never remembered to use them and, in the past, they’ve always expired. I have three sitting here on my desk. Two expired at the end of November.
The last time we flew (Guanajuato), Jay and I were making our way to our gate when I saw the United Club and remembered that I’d left the passes at home. We went in, explained that we had United Explorer cards but had forgotten our passes. We asked if we could take a look at what the Club offered, since we’d never been inside. The representative let us look around and we were impressed. There was comfortable seating areas, TVs, newspapers, WiFi, monitors showing departing flights, coffee, tea, and a contintental breakfast. I’m sure the fare changes at lunch and later in the day.
Basically, it was great!
If you were worried about traffic, you could leave the house extra early and, if you got to the airport in plenty of time, you could relax and have breakfast in the Club. The only thing that worried me was that you could forget what time it was and miss your flight!
I’m flying to Calgary tomorrow and will try to use one of my expired passes, if time permits. And, in the future, I will try not to forget about them. They are a nice little perk.
And, I just discovered that I might be able to sell them on eBay or Craigslist. Something else to think about…
